Irby Park

Come on out to volunteer

Saturdays, 9 a.m. to Noon!

Irby Park’s transformation begun in 2023 has been phenomenal! Here’s how this HB neighborhood park is shaping up as of July, thanks to volunteers.  Grab your gardening gloves and join us on Saturdays, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., as we plant and tend to water-wise trees and flowering shrubs.

Neighborhood volunteers are working to create a lush yet drought-tolerant landscape brimming with Southern California native trees, wildflowers, logs and boulders. Irby Park restoration will provide wildlife habitat, increase property values, and beautify the park for all to enjoy.

Please support our efforts by donating to the Huntington Beach Tree Society and specifying Irby Park Restoration. Tax-deductible donations may be made by clicking on the “Donate” button below or sending a check to:

Amanda Furches

For the past five years Amanda Furches has volunteered at the Urban Forest, focusing on planting California native plants. Two years ago, she initiated the restoration of another community park and seasonal wetland, Irby Park. Her efforts have concentrated on restoring the native wetland biodiversity.

Through collaborations with local schools and community groups, she has helped raise awareness about the importance of freshwater wetlands, species conservation, and reducing water use.
