Some of us at the park saw a cluster of 15 or so monarchs on the tree shown here on the map. There were 4 caterpillars on the milkweed outside Roy’s house [...]

Leslie did some investigating about those tagged butterflies. Apparently, Bryan Burks from the LA Arboretum and Monika U. Moore from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo were at Gibbs Park on 11/11/14 at 1:00 PM and released five male monarchs, 2 of which were those pictured below.
